How about making CPR and AED training mandatory for all US citizens. I mean our health care system suffers greatly due to the timeliness of initiating proper CPR and incorporating use of an AED 2007 zx6r fairings, so why don't we make everyone a first responder. It upsets me greatly as I am a retired EMT and I have seen the effects of others just standing by and waiting for EMS to arrive. There are too many steps to the 911 system, but the steps are unavoidable. It can take 10-15 mins for a call to be made, a dispatcher to notify EMS, an ambulance mobilized, and then actually arrive for treatment....and 10-15 is a low range to give. So if 4 mins of not breathing causes irreversible brain damage and it takes 10-15 mins for an ambulance to arrive, couple that with a pre-hospital survival rate of 8% and it doesnt take a genius to figure out that our current setup doesnt work. Every citizen should be a first responder. Now many may ask how can this be accomplished? First, the govt would need to find leverage, such as making it a part of the process in obtaining a driver's license or a renewal. If you cant pass a CPR/AED test, you dont get a license. Its not rocket science, so if you cant pass it...you probably shouldnt be driving either. We've all been overlooking the strength we have together....together we can save lives....or someone else can save yours....think about it.
